With the blizzard today I thought it would be a good day to share pictures of my amazing fur coat from the last snow storm. When I took these photos a few weeks ago it was just a bit warmer than it has been the past few days. Regardless, I love the look of layering graphic tees under dresses or tanks. Just add tights and you can carry the look into winter. Also, Happy Thanksgiving!

In my book fall equals plaid. The more plaid the better. Which is why I'm never taking off these amazing plaid espadrilles. And this cute plaid tee will be on heavy rotation as well.

Over the past few months I have slowly seen suede and fringe begin to takeover my Instagram feed. I was reluctant at first, but not all I want is to wear all those 70's trends (although I'm still not giving in to flared jeans). So when I found this jacket it checked off everything I wanted. I get the (faux) suede and fringe details in a style that still looks modern and is super easy to wear. Thrown over a tee it adds some fun movement to an otherwise basic outfit. 

Leather-Legged

Nothing quite adds to a basic outfit like a pair of leather leggings. Leather adds that instant cool factor to take any outfit up a notch. I especially love a fun legging like these, which are just leather on the front with a fun wrap-around detail. Pair them with some leather booties and the result is a pair of leather legs that look like they go on forever. Then since I can't seem to part with this jacket (even though it will soon be too cold to wear it) I wrapped it around my waist for the option to wear it later. And the jacket is now on sale, because it is pretty much a proven fact that right after I buy something it will go on sale. It's a curse for me, but a possible blessing for you. Fall Transitions

In my opinion, the key to surviving fall lies in a good jacket. Or, more likely, in a few good jackets. (Who could pick just one?) I love the leather detailing and hardware on this jacket in particular. Plus, it is the perfect lightweight transition piece for these warm one minute, cold the next type days. Layered over the perfect basic sweater and paired with some destroyed denim, it is the easiest way to stay comfortable and look good this fall.

I was trying to make a post about this outfit but I found in all the pictures I am being upstaged by my dogs. I mean look at Bella's ears in that second picture. I just can't compete. But, if by any chance you can take your eyes of of my dogs, you can see my outfit. It's really just another super casual summer look with a little pattern on pattern. The pattern on the shorts, however, is very light and hard to capture in a picture. But they are vertically striped with some floral pattern on them, which I like to pair with this striped shirt (because I actually just wear this striped shirt everyday). 

Tropical Details

Sometimes simple is better. Especially when simple pieces have little details that help make them special. Like these shorts, classic black shorts, but the leather detailing gives them just a hint of an edge. And then there's the top, cute white blouse from afar, but the shoulder detailing makes it even better. And a simple outfit gives the accessories some time to shine, like some statement yellow wedges and the cutest tropical printed clutch, which are perfect for summer. 

Holiday Wishlist | Color Play

Since I celebrate Hanukkah most of my gifting is already done. But for the rest of the world, the holiday frenzy is still going strong. So, this is the first of three holiday wish lists/gift guides I will be making until Christmas. I will be posting one a week and they will all be themed. This weeks theme is color play and I have split the list into three color themes, monochrome, neutrals, and oxblood. Sure, there isn't much color in my color themed holiday gift list, but in my defense sometimes basics are the way to go. Especially if your going to be asking for some less affordable gifts, you will want pieces that will last and you can wear over and over again. And yes, I went for splurge-worthy items for this list, but don't worry next week I'll have gifts under $100. Spontaneous Combustion

I very rarely wear pants other than my trusted AG Jeans, so when I'm wearing another type of pant, you know it's good. Not only are these jeans made in the coolest wash, which is actually named spontaneous combustion, but they are also super comfortable. And comfort is always a deciding factor when I'm picking up a pair of jeans. While most of us pass over our everyday basics they are actually a very important part of our wardrobes. A plain white tee may just be the most important of these basics, or maybe it's tied with the basic black tee. Either way, a good tee can make any outfit look effortless and cool.
