Nothing quite adds to a basic outfit like a pair of leather leggings. Leather adds that instant cool factor to take any outfit up a notch. I especially love a fun legging like these, which are just leather on the front with a fun wrap-around detail. Pair them with some leather booties and the result is a pair of leather legs that look like they go on forever. Then since I can't seem to part with this jacket (even though it will soon be too cold to wear it) I wrapped it around my waist for the option to wear it later. And the jacket is now on sale, because it is pretty much a proven fact that right after I buy something it will go on sale. It's a curse for me, but a possible blessing for you. When all else fails, sometimes no color palette is the best color palette. Seriously, black and white will never fail to make a great, high-contrast outfit. Plus, you don't have to worry about whether all your items of clothing match or not. So, when I saw this black and white vest and Aritzia I knew I needed it for my spring wardrobe. It is the perfect throw on piece to add that special something to any outfit. And don't even get me started on these shoes. I have been waiting so long to finally get to wear them. A leather slip-on with silver pointed cap-toe, I honestly think they might be one of the coolest pairs of shoes ever made. I'm obsessed. They will also be an item in my closet that can be added to any outfit to give it that extra edge. 

Playing Favorites

I do try to switch up my wardrobe and try to wear new pieces or style old pieces differently, especially as winter drags on, but I am definitely guilty of playing favorites. I find that by the end of the season I'm basically wearing the same thing everyday, and it usually comes down to strictly comfort. So these pieces have been at the center of my wardrobe as of late. I love that these faux leather leggings are so comfortable but they add edge to any outfit. And this Equipment blouse with the black and gold always makes a statement. So it's comfortable, yes, but I always try to stay stylish too. 

Clothes For Thought | Now Trending

This is my first attempt at a digital version of a Clothes For Thought collage. And while it came out better than expected, I definitely prefer cutting pictures out of magazines and gluing them to paper. There's something about having the pictures in your hand that makes putting together a collage so fun. But, that's not to say I won't try photoshop again. Anyway, I made this collage as an ode to all the fall trends we love so much. Pretty pinks, perfect plaids, simple sweatshirts, lots of leopard, and anything cozy to keep warm. And yes, the quote was meant to be a bit ironic. 

Fashion icons are consistently telling us not to follow trends and to be ourselves but at the same time we look up to them for following and sometimes creating those very trends they don't want us to follow. My advice, don't count out trends. Never put something down because everyone's wearing it. If you love it wear it. I love being inspired by what others are wearing. I don't think of it as copying them, it's purely inspiration. Just take the trend and do it your own way. Clothes For Thought | Effortless

Okay, so I'm introducing a new feature to the blog Clothes For Thought. Basically, it's a peek into what inspires me. I keep a journal full of collages filled with magazine cut outs and quotes and I thought I would start to share some pages with you. This feature will be on the blog every other week, alternating with my wish lists and trend reports, which have also been renamed, Wanted. So, I hope you like this glimpse into what goes on in my head and inspires and intrigues me. I fell in love with this quote from a Nasty Gal catalog and was instantly inspired by this sort of effortless fall style. Leather, thigh-high boots, quilted skirts, prints, beanies, killer booties, and of course it-model Cara Delevingne embody this sort of effortless cool in my mind. Oh and of course piles of Chanel accessories, as seen on the model in the smaller picture, never hurt anyone. Shop some of my picks inspired by my collage below:

They're Back!

What I'm Wearing: Overalls Nameless | Shirt BCBG, Similar | Boots Tory Burch

My overalls are back! They were awesome in for spring and now they are perfect for fall too. Just layer a long sleeve shirt, or sweater under them and they are perfect for a fall day. Then when it's a little chillier at night a leather jacket will complete the look. And I am still obsessed with the gold heel on these booties, so so good. 

Luxe Leather

I love leather, it's just so luxe, and sleek, and perfect. Honestly, I would love to wear some amount of leather everyday of the week, but that would be one expensive wardrobe. So a few key pieces like the perfect leather jacket (to be debuted soon), some leather leggings and/or pants, and maybe some leather accented sweaters are all you really need. Then some good faux leather pieces can be a good addition too. These leggings are just too good though, the leather front that wraps around. Ugh, I just love clothing with those perfect details. And the shirt, a good high neck is always acceptable.

Alright, first of all sorry for the lack of outfit posts. I had a stressful week of starting a few classes so I wasn't able to take pictures. But, don't worry, there will be all new outfits post next week, I promise. That brings me to today's post which might be the most random wish list I've ever created. This wish list has no particular theme it's just all items that I love. I have to say my favorite items are the Vince Camuto coat, the Sam Edelman shoes, and the Rag and Bone blazer. Seriously though, I want that coat so bad. Guess that's why they call it a wishlist..

NYFW Street Style

New York Fashion Week has ended. It's sad, but now I can look through my instagram without feeling intense jealousy every few pictures from those who were lucky enough to attend. One day, one day I will be there. But until then I stick to viewing the collections online and living the experience through some of my favorite bloggers. And while the actual collections are the reason for fashion week it would be way to difficult to try to narrow down my favorite pieces from all the amazing things I've seen. (Rebecca Minkkoff, Alice and Olivia, Tibi, and BCBG were some of my favorites) So instead I decided to find my favorite street style from NYFW, also a difficult task since there's so much good style, but definitely easier. It's clear that I do love a good monochrome, but I do appreciate good use of color, especially that burgundy color. And prints on prints is almost always good in my book. Plus pairing a blazer with some dressed up sweatpants, I'm amazed, it's just awesome.

Motorcycle Gang

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Rag & Bone | Tank BCBG | Shoes BCBGeneration

The motorcycle shorts are back! I'm literally in love with these shorts, so any new way I can wear them is good with me. So when I found this BCBG shirt I knew I could create a cute casual look with my shorts. While I love this shirt with my shorts, I also can't wait to rock it with some leather leggings in the fall. It actually has a long back that I tucked in to wear it with shorts. And I love a good high-neck. 

P.S. The third picture is me making faces at myself when I saw my reflection, I can never just keep a straight face.

The Cold Shoulder

So clearly this is not a summer day outfit. It's more of a "summer night not during a heatwave when there's actually a slight chill and it's not 95 degrees at 8 at night" outfit. I personally love stripes, and I love how the open shoulder makes this sweatshirt feel more summery. Plus, it's on a pretty good sale, who could pass that up? It's the perfect throw on piece for any summer night.

Pass The Mustard

Not only was this blazer on super sale, but it's also like the coolest mustard color ever. I think it's so fun to just add a nice pop of color to a black and white outfit with some mustard yellow. And I got new sunglasses for my birthday which I am absolutely in love with. I also got some fun new jewels from Urban Outfitters and Rebecca Minkoff. The bar necklace and stackable rings are Rebecca Minkoff and the handpiece, other ring, and midi rings are all from Urban Outfitters. 

Weather Confusion

Alright, when I took these pictures it was clearly not during a heat wave. But, I think this outfit could be really great for a cooler summer night. This blazer is perfect for the summer because it's really light weight and I love white for summer. Although, I think it's officially time to trade in my jeans for some jean shorts instead.
