Two-In-One

What I'm Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Shirt ADDISON | Boots Tory Burch, Similar | Necklace Jules Smith

I picked up this shirt from Addison because it is unlike anything I've ever seen before. And in case you're wondering, yes, that is one shirt. But, the coolest part you can detach the two pieces so it's really like two pieces in one. And that's why I really love the brand Addison, because they always have such unique pieces. (Like this sweater, previously on the blog) I also love how the shirt shows just the tiniest peek of skin, so perfect for spring. Since the shirt is so awesome on it's own I paired it with just the comfiest pair of jeans and a really awesome double bar necklace, which is the perfect piece for a higher neckline.

Off-White

What I'm Wearing: Jeans One Teaspoon | Tee Similar | Shoes Steve Madden | Sunglasses Ray-Ban

I feel like I've been waiting so long to finally wear these pants, which were not easy to get. I fell in love with them online only to go back to buy them and find my size sold out, and not just on one website but on almost all of them. But finally I found them, and I am so happy because they are the perfect jeans for spring. These are the kind of pants that make me wish I had an awesome vintage tee collection because I picture them styled in a really cool edgy way, but at the same time I think they will also look just as good paired with some more feminine pieces as well. Either way, I decided to pair them with this The Who tee which has been sitting in my closet for a few years now. I really like how it created a wonderfully mismatched combination of off-whites, I think it somehow just kind of works.

Guest Post: Go Bold or Go Home

Spring Fashion Trends 2014: Go Bold or Go Home
Spring is here and has brought with it an array of fresh new fashion trends. It is time to lock away those winter woollies and don something vibrant, as we head into the pre-summer party that is the spring season.
Of all the fashion trends of this season, we have to say our hearts lie with the bold trend. It’s fresh, it’s fun and it’s what spring is all about, getting out of hibernation and throwing off your cosy winter shell to reveal a beautiful, colourful flower in bloom! So let’s take a look at how to achieve the bold look this season:
Colour Me Vibrant
So the very basis of the bold trend is found in the colours. And you guessed it, that means big, bold and bright colours are the best way to show what you’re made of this spring.
Think high saturation, bright and solid blocks of blue, pink, red, purple, yellow, orange. Any colour you like, just make it as big and bold as you can!
And mixing colours to create a distinct contrast is in, but beware the clashes as they don’t do the look justice. Try to pick shades that contrast but in a complimentary way, such as a lime green bag with a bright purple dress.
If the shades look a little clashy when too close together, then why not opt to keep them apart, for example opt to keep bright orange around the feet area when paired with bright pink up top. The indirect contrast works much better!
Dare To Accessorize
Bold doesn’t just have to be about the items of clothing. You can go bold with your accessories too! We love to dress up a simple staple like a crisp white t-shirt or vest and rich blue jeans with some bold accessories. Big jewels and colourful adornments are in, so think chunky necklaces with a rainbow of colourful gems in them, dangling earrings with flashes of colour and multiple bracelets/bangles to layer up the colour on your wrists.
This interchangeable watch with multiple straps from Michael Herbelin is the perfect accessory for any outfit, as you can opt for the bright and bold red or purple straps to make a statement, or keep it simple and sophisticated with the classic white strap.
Pretty In Print
Another favourite way to go bold is with prints. You can go for the classic and timeless animal print, the 60’s inspired paisley, bold geometric, or some of the even more daring patchwork prints, which incorporate more than one print at once.
The options for prints are endless and the great thing about prints is wherever you go they will always have something new or different. Every designer has their own take on the basic print’s elements, and this is visible all the way to the high street, as different brands take inspiration from different catwalk designers.

You can also choose to take the bold prints a step further by encompassing the vibrant colours of the trend. Bright colours really highlight the print’s elements, and make for a truly eye-catching look that is daring to pull off but looks stunning when done right!

Stolen

What I'm Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Shirt Elizabeth and James, Similar | Jacket Elizabeth and James | Shoes Miu Miu | Sunglasses Saint Laurent

This jacket might just be my most amazing sample sale find yet. This jacket retailed for $1,295, and I got it for, drum roll please, $250. If I was good at percents, or if I wasn't too lazy to reach for a calculator I would tell you just how great of a steal that was, but I think it's pretty easy to see that it was quite a deal. And I am seriously in love with this jacket. I mean, it looks like the world's most awesome DIY project, but it required no effort whatsoever. It definitely makes a statement, no matter what you wear it with too. It's a piece that makes an outfit, which is always a good piece to have for days where you just don't want to try too hard but still want to look good.

Good Sport

What I'm Wearing: Pants Mother Denim | Shirt Rebecca Minkoff | Sneakers Nike | Sunglasses Saint Laurent

A few weeks ago I posted about my love of all things sport-luxe, and finally with this nice weather I've been able to put some of my new sporty pieces together for a fun spring look. This Rebecca Minkoff might just be one of my favorite new spring items in my closet. It really is the perfect mix of sport and classic. And then there's the shoes. I didn't get an up close picture (my bad, sorry) but they actually have a really subtle leopard print on them, and that combined with the neon yellow accents just makes them ridiculously cool. The look is finished off with leather pants along with the latest addition to my sunglass collection.

Full Bloom

What I'm Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Shirt Equipment | Blazer Aritzia | Shoes Chanel

Like I've said in previous posts, something about spring just brings out the girly-girl in me. I mean bright florals combined with an even brighter blazer, only the warm weather could inspire such a look. But aside from the overload of brights taking over my top half, I must also discuss the jeans. Now, these are the new J Brand stocking jean and in a promotion J Brand held an instagram contest where you basically just had to like a photo to win a pair of jeans. Somehow I magically won that contest. I know, it's crazy, like I honestly didn't think it was possible to win one of those contests. But regardless, about a week later these jeans were delivered and I must say they are one of the comfiest pair of jeans I've ever worn. They really hold true to their promise of ultimate comfort while holding their shape. It's safe to say these jeans will be a go-to item in my spring wardrobe.

Puerto Rico

Hey guys! Sorry it's been way too long since I've posted anything. A bad combination of gross weather and midterms kept me from having anytime to take pictures to post, or post anything for that matter. And then once all of that was over I went right on a plane for a quick spring break getaway to Puerto Rico. I promise (for real this time) that I am absolutely taking pictures this weekend and I will be back to posting regularly next week. Until then, enjoy a few pictures from my vacation and be sure to follow my instagram. You can also shop some of my vacation looks below:
