Snow Day

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Rag & Bone | Coat Jocelyn

With the blizzard today I thought it would be a good day to share pictures of my amazing fur coat from the last snow storm. This coat makes quite the statement with its rainbow fur lining and hood and it is also super warm. This coat is real fur (I know, I know, sorry) but shop some cute faux fur options below:

Oversized

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater For Love & Lemons | Turtleneck Free People | Boots Rebecca Minkoff

There's nothing cozier for a cold day than an oversized, baggy sweater. I love the cutouts on this knit that make it so easy to layer with. And buckled booties add some fun edge to the outfit.

Slouchy Sweater

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Free People | Boots J Crew

The off the shoulder trend doesn't have to end just because its getting cooler. Transition the look into fall with a slouchy off the shoulder sweater. I wore mine with a lace bralette, jeans, and the most amazing snakeskin boots (which I found after a year of searching for the perfect pair). The boots are currently on sale, so I'd act fast if I were you..

The Blues

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Top Tibi | Shoes Steve Madden | Sunglasses Gucci

Trying to savor the last bit of summer (even though it officially ended for me on Tuesday) with the most amazing baby blue shirt. This shirt is one of those super easy to wear pieces, and although it's pretty summery I will definitely try to wear this as far into fall as I can.

On The Fringes

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Top Timo Weiland | Shoes Aquazzura

Fringe is still going strong and I am certainly not mad about it. As long as you don't over do it, fringe can be the perfect detail to make any outfit. Plus, look at how well it moves during that hair flip, too good.

Reinvented

Wearing: Dress (worn as shirt and vest) A.L.C | Jeans J Brand | Flats Kurt Geiger

So I decided to take this amazing dress (that I got for a major steal on The Outnet) and switch it up a little by wearing it as a top and vest. I love this look because it creates a cool tone on tone effect that is all one color but somehow doesn't fall flat at all. And it takes the dress to a more casual level, which means I'll get even more wear out of it. I think I may even like this as a top and vest better than as a dress..

Fringe Benefits

Jeans J Brand | Tee Rag & Bone | Jacket SW3 | Shoes Kurt Geiger, SimilarSimilar

Over the past few months I have slowly seen suede and fringe begin to takeover my Instagram feed. I was reluctant at first, but not all I want is to wear all those 70's trends (although I'm still not giving in to flared jeans). So when I found this jacket it checked off everything I wanted. I get the (faux) suede and fringe details in a style that still looks modern and is super easy to wear. Thrown over a tee it adds some fun movement to an otherwise basic outfit.

The Basics

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Maje, Similar | Tank IRO | Coat The Kooples | Boots Miu Miu | Sunglasses Fendi

At this point of winter I've worn all my clothes to death and it is just too cold outside. And rather than investing in more winter clothes all I want is clothes for spring. So, basically, my wardrobe has gotten pretty stale. My solution is just to embrace my basics. By layering my go-to gray sweater with a new distressed tank it adds a little bit more to an otherwise dull outfit. Plus, wearing my new sunglasses (which I am obsessed with) adds a fun element and a pop of color.

Sweater Steals

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Theory | Sneakers Vince | Sunglasses Ralph Lauren

Not going to lie, the mall post-Christmas is a pretty scary place. But if you are brave enough to venture in you are sure to find a good deal. Exhibit A: this theory cashmere sweater for, drum roll please, 50% off. Pretty hard to pass up a deal like that so I got two. I absolutely love the burgundy color of this one mixed with the charcoal gray. And as an added touch I threw on my pink tinted sunnies because I love the way they look with any shades of red or pink. Yet Another Casual Friday

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Tank Helmut Lang | Shirt Rails | Shoes Miu Miu

Ahh, all my finals are finally over and now I get to be super lazy for a bit. Well, at least until my winter session courses start (but those are online, so they can all be done while still wearing pajamas). But for now, I will be embracing laziness with super comfy and easy to wear pieces, such as a plaid shirt. This plaid shirt is not only super easy to wear, but it is also the comfiest shirt I own, and it can be worn in so many ways.

Embellished Basics

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Aritzia | Tank Aritzia | Boots Acne Studios

I love a good high neckline. So, obviously this sweater with a neckline that falls somewhere in between a crew neck and a turtleneck is the perfect addition to my wardrobe. And a little peek-a-boo lace hem adds a little embellishment to the everyday uniform of jeans and a sweater.

Gray Day

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Aritzia | Shirt Splendid | Boots Acne Studios

I absolutely love this sleeveless sweater, but the challenge is, of course, wearing it when its freezing outside. So I went with the obvious solution, layering. And because color might as well not exist this fall (let's face it I don't think I've worn a color other than gray, black, or beige lately), I opted for a tone on tone look with a gray shirt layered underneath. I like the way it looks, and I especially like the high slits on either side that give an extra peek at the layered pieces.
