There's nothing cozier for a cold day than an oversized, baggy sweater. I love the cutouts on this knit that make it so easy to layer with. And buckled booties add some fun edge to the outfit.

The off the shoulder trend doesn't have to end just because its getting cooler. Transition the look into fall with a slouchy off the shoulder sweater. I wore mine with a lace bralette, jeans, and the most amazing snakeskin boots (which I found after a year of searching for the perfect pair). I am 100% embracing the continuing 90's trend this fall. Not only will I continue to layer tees under my dresses, but now those dresses will be velvet. Velvet is probably one of my favorite trends right now. I love velvet tops and dresses, and I am obsessed with velvet shoes. Shop some of my favorite velvet picks below:

Slip Into Summer

Slip dresses are perfect for summer. They can easily be layered a million different ways and they're a nice, lightweight option for hot days. I prefer to layer a slip dress over a tee and pair it with sneakers for an easy casual look. And I am absolutely in love with this dress because of it's cute back and ties up the side. 

Jacket and Jeans

I'm pretty sure I would have been very happy as a rebellious teen boy in the 50's because a leather jacket and jeans is my go-to look. It's a simple look that always works, and this spring add a bandana for a little something extra. I love this silk one from Free People because it has four different colored squares so you can change the color of it depending on what your wearing. 

Lace Layers II

I previously endorsed the lace top here, but if you weren't yet convinced, here's another way to wear it. It really is the perfect spring layering piece that can be paired with so many different items. As the weather gets warmer I love this top paired with a shift dress. 

The Fray

If my post last week wasn't enough to understand my love for frayed denim, here I am in one of my favorite new pieces for spring. I love how the white denim top makes the denim on denim aspect of this outfit slightly less obvious. And since the outfits pretty basic I added some color with my green boots and another trend I love for spring, scarves. Lace Layers

Just as a turtleneck was a key layering piece all winter, a lace top can easily be layered with all your favorite pieces all spring. I love the idea of a little bit of lace just peeking out from underneath a sweater, it adds a subtle femininity and added interest to any outfit. As the weather gets warmer this same top can be paired with your favorite dresses too. If you want to give this look a try I highly suggest the Free People top I'm wearing (linked above), it comes in a variety of colors and it's at a good price point. And trust me when I say I spent many days searching for the perfect lace top online and this was the clear winner. 

Casual

I decided to take on the choker trend with a simple outfit full of must-have basics. A gray v-neck, straight-leg jeans, and the perfect pair of black sneakers are the easiest, and best, items to have in your closet. And while you can buy chokers almost anywhere now, I decided to DIY one instead. All it took was a trip to the craft store to buy some leather, simply cut to size and tie it.
