Yellow is not typically a color I gravitate towards. However, there was something so perfectly vintage-y yet current feeling about this blouse that I couldn't pass it up. I love it paired with distressed, high rise denim for a cute but casual look.

If my post last week wasn't enough to understand my love for frayed denim, here I am in one of my favorite new pieces for spring. I love how the white denim top makes the denim on denim aspect of this outfit slightly less obvious. And since the outfits pretty basic I added some color with my green boots and another trend I love for spring, scarves. I love denim. Jeans, shirts, dresses, I love it all. And I especially love the raw, unfinished hems that are popular for spring. I recently just had a bunch of my jeans cut and I've been obsessed with any and all things frayed. Shop frayed denim below:

Here's another denim and white sneaker combo, which I believe is the perfect summer outfit formula. And this denim tank dress is so amazingly easy to wear, it's perfect for even the hottest summer days. One of the most important items in one's closet will always be a little black dress. The versatile style staple allows you to put a unique spin on your outfit each time you wear it. I bought this dress last year and it is still one of my favorite things to wear. I decided to add a denim shirt over it to add a little interest to a casual look. But, the real star of the outfit has to be these amazing shoes, which I searched the internet for earlier this summer. Unfortunately, I could not find them in this color anywhere but I have linked the same style in silver above. 

Extreme Makeover: Blog Edition

You may have been wondering what is going on with the blog as my posts went from infrequent at best this summer to pretty much completely halted the last two weeks. Well, truth be told, I ran into quite the mental block this summer. But then it hit me, what I need is to revamp the blog because the only way it can be exciting for people to read is if it is once again exciting for me to write. So here's what I'm going to do:

First things first, the blog is getting a makeover. New layout, new theme, all that jazz. Then I'm going to be adding new content too. Personal outfit posts will be central to the blog, as before, but I'm going to add in more posts of what inspires me, and hopefully can inspire you too. (I'll talk more about that stuff when when the relaunch occurs.) 

So, I leave you for a short break with this last little post. This is an outfit I took pictures of a few weeks ago but never got the chance to post. Just thought I'd show off these awesome 90's-esque destroyed denim, high-waisted shorts as one last bit of summer before I come back with tons of fall inspiration.

Sorry about the total lack of posts. I have no excuses except for the fact that summer seems to bring out the laziness in me, and in my outfit selections. But every once in a while I put something nice together. Like this cute and easy blue on blue ensemble. Which, of course, is paired with my birks since I haven't taken them off since I've bought them and my feet are super happy with that. 

Casual Fridays

I have a confession, in real (non-blog) life my summer wardrobe basically consists of denim shorts and tees. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the occasional cute printed short, blouse, even a dress, but in all honesty I just don't put much thought into everyday summer outfits. Because all we all really want to be wearing is a bathing suit by a pool, right? 

The Blues

Just put together some denim on denim for the spring. I love the relaxed fit of this denim tee, perfect to tie-up or keep loose over some skinny jeans. Also really love the blue lenses of my Ray-Bans against the different shades of blue denim. It has me feeling very blue... but in a good way.

Double Down

Winter is all about layering, however, I wanted to try something new. We've seen layering a button down with a sweater plenty of times. But what about layering a button down with another button down? It was kind of just this idea I had in my head for a while and I decided to give it a try. And I must say I love it. I think it works well because of how different the two shirts are though. The crispness of the white shirt against the laid-back nature of the denim shirt adds a fun contrast. And since it was sunny out on Saturday, instead of an impending snow storm as it is now, I got to roll up my sleeves. 

Dreamin'

I may have a slight obsession with dream catchers. I have two hanging in my room, four more that I made sitting on my desk, and I had two dream catcher necklaces, but one went missing. So when I saw this tank, I knew I had to have it. It's the perfect addition to both my dream catcher collection, and my wardrobe. I decided to take this tank and wear it with my favorite shorts, which would be a typical summer day outfit. I wanted to take it up a notch, so I added my favorite blazer (that still isn't mine) and my Ted Baker wedges. 

Old Favorites

Today was one of those "I have nothing new to wear so I'll throw on some old favorites" days. These shorts are the perfect denim cut-offs. You know I love a good floral, and the length and amount of rips is just right. Then there's this tee, which I had almost forgot I had. My closet can really be a black hole sometimes. The zips on the sleeves set it apart from just your average t-shirt. And because I felt the outfit needed a little something more I threw on this black vest.
