Music Monday | All This Could Be Yours

Here's a good song to get you through this short week. Cold War Kids is just a really awesome band. (See: Hang Me Up To Dry) But this particular song had me hooked from the first time I heard it. It has a sort of Jack White vibe to it that I really like. Which reminds me I should really feature a Jack White song one of these days. Too much good music, too little time. Enjoy.

Camel Basics

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Aritzia | Boots Saint LaurentSimilar

I have been drawn to anything and everything camel this season. So when I saw this great basic sweater in camel (it photographed a little lighter than it actually is) I had to pick it up. It is the perfect everyday sweater that I just layered with a simple tee underneath it. And because one camel item per outfit isn't enough, I had to put on my camel colored boots as well.

Swap Out

Wearing: Pants Aritzia | Sweater Aritzia | Boots Acne Studios

It certainly is a rare occurrence to find me not wearing jeans. Like I actually wear jeans every single day, and have so many pairs its a little embarrassing. But it is nice to switch it up every now and again and when I found these awesome, casual-fit pants I knew it was time to swap out my jeans. And I always find it magical when pants actually are a normal length on me. It's usually because those pants would actually be cropped on someone of a normal height, but it's fine, I'll take it. Regardless, I can't wait to give my jeans a break more often.

Bundled In Black

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Aritzia | Boots Acne Studios

I don't think there is anything in the world comfier than this sweater. And when the weather man says the words "polar vortex" there really is nothing else I'd rather wear than the biggest, comfiest sweater I own. It is perfectly oversized without having it feel like I am drowning in fabric. The high neck is just right for tucking your hair into. Or leave your hair down and roll the neck like I did for another easy way to wear this sweater.

Music Monday | Shut Up and Dance

Here's a more upbeat song than usual for this Monday morning. Hopefully this song, and accompanying super colorful video, will wake you up and get your Monday off to a good start. And once you've given this song a listen be sure to check out the song Anna Sun, also by Walk the Moon.

Music Monday | Female Robbery

It's pretty rare that I like every single song I hear by an artist/band. It's even rarer that I love every song on the first listen. But The Neighbourhood has defied all odds and has managed to make an album where every single song could be a hit. And even though I first heard sweater weather over a year ago (followed by female robbery and afraid), for some weird reason it wasn't until this past weekend that I decided to give the rest of the album a listen. Which, was so stupid on my part, because like I said, it is so freaking good. And out of all the songs Female Robbery is still my favorite, which is why I decided to feature it this week. Enjoy, and definitely look up their other songs too!

Take Two

Wearing: Skirt Helmut Lang | Sweater Vince | Scarf Burberry | Boots Acne Studios

Take two, on both the skirt and the sweater. It's always a good idea to have multiple ways to wear the items in your closet.

The Look | Knitwear

These women are definitely making the case for head-to-toe knitwear. I'm suddenly feeling like I don't have enough knits in my closet. You too? Shop some of my knitwear picks below:

Gray Area

Wearing: Jeans J Brand | Sweater Intermix | Boots Acne Studios

Oversized knits in a tone on tone ensemble? Count me in. I love the mixture of dark and light grays. It creates a cool tonal effect, but the sweater is light enough so that the outfit doesn't feel too dark. The ribbed detailing on the sweater also helps to add some texture to the outfit too. And anything knit and oversized has a reserved spot in my fall wardrobe, because when it's cold outside there is nothing better than a good, cozy sweater.

Music Monday | Blank Space

So I know so far I've only posted alternative music, because really that is what makes up most of my playlists lately. However, I have always been a huge Taylor Swift fan and I cannot ignore the release of her latest album, 1989. Now, I'll admit the idea of a new sound from Taylor made me a little nervous. But what can I say, that girl can do anything. She made such a solid pop album that is really everything you would ever want from the genre, it's pure perfection. So perfect, in fact, that it was difficult to pick one song to feature. It came down to this one, I Know Places, and Style, but really the whole album is amazing. I love how Taylor Swift has the ability to completely reinvent herself with every album yet can always say just what everyone is thinking in her songs. It is for that reason that there will always be room on my playlist for Taylor Swift.

Oh, and check out my new little widget on the top right. I'll be updating it every few weeks to feature a few items currently on my wish list. Right now it's all about fall essentials, so shop away.
