Wishlist: London Boutiques

(All Available At London Boutiques)

I decided to do a weekend wishlist of all items from London Boutiques as a thank you for the great post they wrote for the blog, "How To Get The London Look". Let me tell you, it was very hard picking just a few items for this list, because everything on the website is just beautiful. My absolute favorite item on the list, the sneakers. They're probably the coolest sneakers I've ever seen, and they're leather, how amazing is that? I also love the bright color of the blazer, the chicness of both the jumpsuit and the blouse, the feminine feel of the dress, and the simplicity of the bangles. I wish I could get it all.

Tied With A Bow

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Zara | Tank Ted Baker | Shoes Ted Baker

On my birthday we went to the Meatpacking District, and oh my goodness, shopping heaven. But of course it was all very expensive. Luckily, we stumbled upon a Ted Baker store which is currently having a major sale. (the sale is online too so check it out) I got this adorable shirt, I love the high neck and the bow, it's too cute, and I can't resist anything with butterflies on it. I also got these perfect wedges. Their perfect because they're a good height, tall enough, but not too tall as to make me feel ridiculous.

Short Shorts

What I'm Wearing: Shorts AG Jeans | Tank Talula (Aritzia) | Blazer Talula (Aritzia) | Shoes BCBGeneration

Just like I have my favorite pair of jeans, I have my favorite pair of jean shorts as well. And it's no coincidence that they are also AG, seriously they are the best jeans every, I promise. They're so good I have these shorts in three different colors. I love this blazer and tank together, too. The color of the blazer is just amazing, and you know I love a good floral. I'd probably wear the shorts and tank during the day and throw on the blazer at night, because it's way too hot outside.

How To Get The London Look

London is one of the four fashion capitals of the world alongside Milan, Paris, and New York. However, Global Language Monitor actually deemed the city to be the cream of the crop in 2011 and 2012. New York had previously had this title, but thanks to the Olympics and the rise of Kate Middleton, fashion has grown in London once more.

But whilst all four fashion capitals may have style in common, their looks are very different from one and other. For instance, American fashion is very sportswear orientated and if you are a fan of fashion week then you will note that New York Fashion Week showcases the most laid back looks out of the lot. So, how do you get the London look? Let’s take a look at some key pieces...

No Brits wardrobe is complete without an injection of leather. This encompasses everything from leather bags to boots to jackets. It is well worth investing in a quality leather jacket. This is something that will never go out of fashion and will definitely be your best fashion friend for many years to come. You can get your jacket from somewhere such as London Boutiques to be assured of quality.

Aside from leather another must have is a pair of skinny jeans. These have become a fashion staple for every British girl. A lot of the time the London look revolves around keeping it simple and finishing off with a high fashion edge. A pair of skinny jeans provides you with the perfect platform to do so and build the high fashion edge on top of it. And the great thing about skinny jeans is that they go with anything so you can create an array of different looks.
Another garment your wardrobe will not be complete without is a blazer. A blazer provides you with the perfect way to turning your day outfit into a night time look. You can pair your blazer with your skinny jeans and team with a pair of sky scrapper heels to emulate a glamorous yet sophisticated style.

And last but not least, your must have accessories in London is a scarf. And that’s not merely because it is cold. Patterned silk scarves provide an easy way of turning a plain t-shirt or shirt into an exciting and vibrant ensemble.

So there you have it; the perfect garments to create the London look. To start off your London style wardrobe get yourself a pair of skinny jeans, a blazer, a leather garment and a scarf and you are good to go!

Thanks to London Boutiques for this post! And check out their website because I know I want everything on it!

Rompin' Around

What I'm Wearing: Romper Pins and Needles (Urban Outfitters) | Shoes Chanel | Bangle Kate Spade

This is actually the only romper I own (aside from a coverup) and I love it, I need to find more. It's just so easy and effortless to wear. Plus, I got tons of compliments when I wore it on Friday, which is always a nice bonus. And I love the lace detail on the collar of this romper, and the sheer middle, which adds a little something extra to what is otherwise just a black outfit. The top was a little too sheer, however, for my liking so I added a bandeau underneath. I must say, I am kinda obsessed with these high necks with collars that I've been seeing lately. I've seen them a lot, especially in Ted Baker tops, and I've coined the term "puritan chic" for them. They're conservative but still so stylish and fun. And, lastly, thanks to my mom for surprising me with a few goodies on my birthday including this Kate Spade bangle, I love it.

P.S. If you envy British style as much as I do, check out the blog tomorrow for a guest post from London Boutiques on how to get the London Look.

Birthday!

What I'm Wearing: Dress Talula (Aritzia) | Shoes BCBGeneration | Pocketbook Rebecca Minkoff

Saturday was my nineteenth birthday! It was so much fun. On Friday I went into the city with my two best friends Sophie and Jamie and we went shopping, stopped by Toys R Us in Times Square, and then had dinner at Ruby Foos. And then Saturday, I woke up ate chocolate chip banana pancakes (my favorite food in the world) and then later went out to dinner to STK in the Meatpacking District, and took a few pictures, of coure, too. Seriously dinner was amazing, and dessert, holy crap, the picture does not do it justice. As for the outfits, I absolutely love this dress, it's so summery and fun. And the material is so nice, it's very comfy. I wore it with my new BCBGeneration sandals and my Rebecca Minkoff bag which is the perfect going out bag. I'll have a separate outfit post for the romper I wore on Friday up tomorrow.

To Dye For

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Haute Hippie, Similar | Tank ASTR | Shoes Dolce Vita

Normally I stay very far away from tie dye. It comes back in style every few years but every time all I can think about is when I wore head to toe tie dye So Nikki sweatsuits all through 5th grade. The horror of that fashion nightmare is enough to keep me away from tie dye for a long time. But for some reason, I just gravitated towards these shorts, and I absolutely love them. They're a nice simple tie dye with neutral colors, not too crazy.

In other news, TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY! I'm going to be 19, it's a weird number, not sure how I feel about it. And today to celebrate I'm spending the day with my two best friends in the city, and then tomorrow I'm going out to dinner with the family. I'll have the outfits from both days posted next week, but if you want a sneak peak check out my instagram. (Think of following me as your birthday present to me, you can also like the Wear Me Out New York facebook page, that'd be cool too)

Got It In The Bag

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Zara | Tank Wilfred (Aritzia) | Cami Talula (Aritzia) | Shoes Chanel | Pocketbook Marc by Marc Jacobs

So I've already shared with you my love for the store Aritzia and my love for Zara. And these pieces are certainly no exception. This blouse is to die for, the color, the feel, it's amazing. But because it is a bit sheer I put a floral cami (or bustier, if you will) underneath, it adds a cool effect when the light catches it. As for the shorts, while I normally stay away from white bottoms, these were too good to pass up, there made from like the coolest fabric, not your average white short. And while I normally don't take pictures with my pocketbook, I had to show off my new baby. I just love the black with the gold hardware, and the fact that you can carry it on your arm or on your shoulder, perfection.

Swirling and Twirling

What I'm Wearing: Dress Topshop | Shoes Dolce Vita | Sunglasses Gucci

I absolutely love this dress. I like how it's almost contradictory with the girly floral print but then the sportiness of the number 23. It's just so fun and perfect for summer days. And I hope you like my spinning gif, because it was not easy getting that thing on here. I played around in photoshop to make it and then had to figure out how to get it to work on here. Sorry, it's a little blurry, but at least it moves! I'm just always swirling and twirling whenever I'm in a dress or skirt. It's so fun, I can't resist.

Don't Skort The Issue

What I'm Wearing: Skort Zara | Tank Zara | Shoes Michael Michael Kors

I don't think I've worn a skort since I was about seven, but this one from Zara is pretty hard to resist. I wore it with this awesome white tank, which has become a staple in my wardrobe. It's literally perfect to throw on with anything. And how amazing are these yellow wedges? I bought them to wear when I go into the city on Friday to celebrate my birthday with my two best friends. (My birthday is Saturday)  I'm going to wear them with an adorable all black romper from Urban Outfitters. I can't wait to show you guys! But anyway, not only do they add a nice pop of color, I'm hoping that the extra few inches will allow me to feel tall for a day, and maybe even allow people to believe I'm turning 19.

Tailored.

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Wilfred (Aritzia) | Tank Wilfred (Aritzia) | Shoes Steve Madden | Watch Skagen | Rings Rebecca Minkoff (Stacked)Urban Outfitters (Midi)

I found the most wonderful new store while shopping in the city. It's called Aritzia and I highly recommend checking it out. The people who work there were so incredibly helpful and the brands there are all amazing. I picked up this outfit there, as well as a few other items that will be on the blog within the next few weeks. I think these shorts may be my favorite item I picked up though, the fabric is beautiful and as the description says they are perfectly tailored.

Cool Rider

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Rag & Bone | Tank Rag & Bone | Shoes Converse

Yeah, I went there. Motorcycle everything. I can't help it, the tiny little motorcycles are the cutest things ever. Obviously I'll wear these pieces separately as well, as seen in my Vroom Vroom post. But even though it's a little crazy, I really love them together. And I recently rediscovered my love for my converse. They've been sitting in my closet for way too long! I feel like they add to the overall "cool" vibe of the outfit, but then all my gold jewelry keeps it feminine and fun. And how cute is my best friend Becca trying to flee the third photo :)
If you had the pleasure of seeing the movie Grease 2, then you'll recognize the title of the post is a nod to a song in the movie. My sister and I were a little obsessed and would sing it all the time. (Hey Danielle!) But if you haven't seen the movie, don't worry you're not really missing out.
