I absolutely love this sleeveless sweater, but the challenge is, of course, wearing it when its freezing outside. So I went with the obvious solution, layering. And because color might as well not exist this fall (let's face it I don't think I've worn a color other than gray, black, or beige lately), I opted for a tone on tone look with a gray shirt layered underneath. I like the way it looks, and I especially like the high slits on either side that give an extra peek at the layered pieces.

Black & Blue
Back in September I styled this tee as a dress for the warm weather. Now, five months later, I've taken the same amazing tee and winterized it. Long sleeves layered underneath, black jeans, and boots make this outfit way more appropriate for the snowy weather. I really do love both versions of how I styled this tee, it shows how versatile one article of clothing can be. Which is perfect inspiration for getting through the remaining weeks of winter with a wardrobe thats somewhat tired at this point.

DIY Plaid Skirt
I bought a lot of plaid this past season, but the one item I didn't buy was a plaid skirt. And though in the back of my head I was wanting one, I kept choosing other items instead. But then I found some internet inspiration and decided to make my own plaid skirt using my favorite plaid shirt. It's very simple. All I did was button up the shirt part way (I did about 3/4 of the way up for a higher waist, but button as many as you'd like) and then I just folded the top part down and tied the arms. The result, a plaid skirt that resembles the dressed down look of having a shirt tied around your waist. And then a simple black shirt keeps the look nice and simple.

Leather, Beanies, Rompers, Oh My!
What I'm Wearing: Romper ASOS | Shirt Splendid | Jacket All Saints | Beanie ASOS | Shoes Vince Camuto, Similar
It's the quintessential fall outfit. I put together some of my favorite elements of fall style for this one. I've discussed my love of leather many times before, and the leather jacket in particular is definitely my one of my favorite fall items. Then there's the beanie, I'm new to the beanie trend but I really love it, and they are really practical too for these cold days we've been having in New York. I especially love this green one, the color is just the perfect fall green. I also love tights for fall, and winter, because they allow me to wear my favorite skirts and dresses year round. And in this case, this awesome lace print romper. The perfect heeled booties finish off this perfect fall look.

Coat Crazy
Okay, so it's not quite coat season yet. But think about it, we shop for summer clothes starting around March, fall invades stores late July, and so actually I'm very behind on my coat shopping. A coat is such an important piece and yet I do not own one. However, that's going to change because I really really really want one. I own lots of jackets because they tend to be my weakness, I'm always falling in love with them. But a coat is different, it's a little dressier, more sophisticated. And I need one. Luckily, finding one shouldn't be a problem because there are tons to choose from and I put some of my favorites above. Yes, some of them are way out of my price range but they were too amazing to resist blogging them. The first one to catch my eye, that Thakoon leopard print coat, seriously, did anyone else instantly fall in love with that one? And then some plaid, some leather, and you can't have a wish list of coats without Burberry. Ugh, and that Valentino. I am seriously considering the pink and black BB Dakota one though, I normally don't do pink but that subtle pale pink is almost a neutral. Decisions, decisions..
And in case you forgot you can click on any of the pictures above to view where to buy them.

Old Favorites
What I'm Wearing: Shorts Free People, Similar | Tee Splendid, Similar | Vest Fluxus | Shoes Converse
Today was one of those "I have nothing new to wear so I'll throw on some old favorites" days. These shorts are the perfect denim cut-offs. You know I love a good floral, and the length and amount of rips is just right. Then there's this tee, which I had almost forgot I had. My closet can really be a black hole sometimes. The zips on the sleeves set it apart from just your average t-shirt. And because I felt the outfit needed a little something more I threw on this black vest.

Rainy Days
How beautiful are these pants? I'm in love with the color-blocked detailing. The best part, the bottom is finished so if I want to wear them with flats I can just cuff them. Plus, everything I bought at Aritzia is made of the most amazing fabrics, and these pants are no different. They are so soft and comfortable. I wore them with a simple Splendid top that is a great summer staple. And please excuse my hair in this weeks photos because I took all of them in the rain.

Dreaming of Spring
What I'm Wearing: Shirt Splendid | Skirt Aqua, Similar | Tights Hue | Boots Michael Kors | Rings Frey Wille | Bracelets Alex and Ani
It's way too cold outside in New York right now. But I am so done with winter, I need warm weather. So while it doesn't feel like spring outside, the floral print on this skirts at least lets me feel a little bit springy. And because it is cold outside I wore some tights and a long sleeve shirt to keep warm.

Mid-Rise
Mid-rise jeans are awesome. They hit in the perfect spot so they are very flattering. And they are perfect to tuck a cute shirt into. Add a cardigan, because it is still way too cold outside, and some flats and it's the perfect outfit.
