DIY Plaid Skirt

What I'm Wearing: Plaid Shirt Rails | Shirt Splendid | Boots Zara, Similar

I bought a lot of plaid this past season, but the one item I didn't buy was a plaid skirt. And though in the back of my head I was wanting one, I kept choosing other items instead. But then I found some internet inspiration and decided to make my own plaid skirt using my favorite plaid shirt. It's very simple. All I did was button up the shirt part way (I did about 3/4 of the way up for a higher waist, but button as many as you'd like) and then I just folded the top part down and tied the arms. The result, a plaid skirt that resembles the dressed down look of having a shirt tied around your waist. And then a simple black shirt keeps the look nice and simple.

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Juicy Couture, Similar | Tee Free People | Shoes Ted Baker

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, summer for me is all about denim shorts and cute tanks and tees. These denim shorts are extra awesome because they are an ombred red/pinkish color. I wore them with an old Free People graphic tee, that is actually a very dramatic hi-low top that I recently cut so that I could wear it with shorts. I felt bad cutting it, but if it means I'll get more use out of it, which I'm certain I will, then I think it's worth it.

Heartstopper

What I'm Wearing: Dress Free People | Shoes Free People, Similar | Bracelets Alex and Ani

How wonderful is this dress? I fell in love with it when it first came out but didn't buy it. And then I went shopping with my grandma last week and found it in the sale room (which is weird because its not on sale on the website, but i swear it was in the store) and I tried it on, fell in love again. I wore it with my favorite gladiator sandals. They are a few years old now, and if i took a close up you would see that they are starting to fall apart because I've worn them way too much. And I wore this cute little head piece that I made. Yes, I made it, and I made it with all materials I bought at Walmart for about 6 dollars. Pretty cool, huh?
