Double Plaid

Wearing: Jeans Mother Denim | Top Rag & Bone | Shoes Chanel

In my book fall equals plaid. The more plaid the better. Which is why I'm never taking off these amazing plaid espadrilles. And this cute plaid tee will be on heavy rotation as well.

Suede and Studs

Wearing: Skirt Maje | Tee Vince, Similar | Shoes Ted Baker, Similar

I'm usually not much of a mini-skirt kinda girl, however, every once in a while I fall in love with one I need to have. And as I previously shared, (here) I have been obsessed with skirts lately as well as anything and everything suede. So this skirt fit the bill, and the studded belt detail sealed the deal. Perfect dressed up, or down as seen here with a basic tee.

Neckerchief

Wearing: Jeans The Castings (Aritzia) | Tank French Connection, Similar  | Scarf Aritzia |
Shoes Chanel

I wasn't really sure the neckerchief was a trend that I would ever take on, or that I even owned a scarf that could pull off the look. But, when I spotted this geometric printed square scarf I knew I had to give it a try. I love how this particular scarf has a combination of patterns on it so I can even fold it different ways and get a slightly different look. And I really do love the look, it's much easier to wear than I thought it would be. However, I will say that an 80 degree weather day probably wasn't the best day to test out wearing a scarf..

Striped Tunic

Wearing: Jeans Frame Denim | Tunic Theory | Wedges Ted Baker, Similar

When I saw this top it was love at first sight. I am absolutely in love with the 70's color palette, the stripes, the side slits, everything. It's perfect over any pair of jeans and throw a slip under it and you can wear it as a dress too. (I love pieces that perform double duty.) To add some height to an outfit with a lot of length I threw on some chunky wedges, which I felt worked perfectly with the outfit.

Catch You On The Flip Side

Wearing: Jeans The Castings (Aritzia) | Tee Aritzia | Shoes Chanel

What's better than a white tee with a little humor? I'd argue nothing is better. It's not only super easy to wear (you can throw it on with basically anything) but it also makes you smile, and hopefully makes someone else smile too. I probably find this shirt funnier than anyone else does, but oh well, I can't wait to wear it all through the summer anyway.

Something New

Wearing: Dress Aritzia | Shoes Chanel

The apocalypse must be approaching because now I've blogged two dresses within the span of a week. As someone who rarely even considers an outfit that doesn't include a pair of jeans, dresses are seldom seen in my wardrobe. But I can't deny the ease of slipping on one piece and knowing your outfit is complete. And the tassel tie detailing on this dress made it hard to resist. Plus, it can also be worn off the shoulders, as seen here. So, who knows, maybe this could be the start of an increased number of dresses in my closet, maybe.

Fringe Kimono

Wearing: Jeans Joe's Jeans | Tank Aritzia | Kimono Aritzia, Similar | Shoes Chanel

The whole idea of "festival season" never really phased me, but this year I am obsessed. I think it's a combination of festival style and the resurgence of the 70's that makes me want to dress in suede, camel, fringe, and anything with a little boho flair. If you had suggested wearing a kimono to me a year ago I probably would've laughed, however, I was definitely missing out because I am in love with this one. It's so easy to wear and can be thrown on top of anything. It's the perfect piece to take with me from spring into summer.

Reinvented

Wearing: Dress (worn as shirt and vest) A.L.C | Jeans J Brand | Flats Kurt Geiger

So I decided to take this amazing dress (that I got for a major steal on The Outnet) and switch it up a little by wearing it as a top and vest. I love this look because it creates a cool tone on tone effect that is all one color but somehow doesn't fall flat at all. And it takes the dress to a more casual level, which means I'll get even more wear out of it. I think I may even like this as a top and vest better than as a dress..

5.29.15

Wearing: Jeans 7 For All Mankind | Tee Aritzia | Sneakers 10 Crosby Derek Lam

This has become one of my go-to outfits. It's a simple formula of boyfriend jeans, a tee, and slip-on sneakers. I've stepped it up a notch with these brand new sneakers. I had been admiring them for a while now and I just finally bought them. And of course, all my outfits always look better when one of my dogs sneaks into the picture.

A Bit Boho

Jeans Aritzia | Blouse Aritzia | Shoes Vince

The perfect vintage-inspired denim and this boho blouse make for the perfect casual Friday look. While both are pretty unlike most items in my closet I instantly fell in love with both. Maybe its the excitement of the two music festivals in my future (Firefly and Lollapalooza), or maybe its the invasion of 70's inspired looks, but I've definitely been leaning towards more boho pieces lately. So while it may be the first, it most likely won't be the last boho look I wear this spring.

Keep It Casual

Wearing: Jeans Frame Denim | Tank Sen | Jacket A.L.C., Similar | Shoes Vince

The sun has finally come out and I'm so excited to finally get to wear something other than the same few sweaters that I had been wearing over and over again as winter dragged on. One of the things I'm most excited to wear are ripped jeans. I have managed to amass quite a few pairs of ripped denim over the past month or so, including this exact pair in two different colors. (Here they are in white) In my defense, I do wear denim almost every single day, and this pair is so comfortable it only made sense to have them in white and blue (shopaholic excuses). Anyway, I love the ease of ripped denim with simple basics for a casual look. And I also love how the knotted detail at the bottom of the shirt adds a little something extra to an otherwise plain white tank. Plus its also made of the world's softest material, no exaggeration.

Sweater Steals Part II

Wearing: Pants Aritzia | Sweater Theory | Boots Acne Studios

I told you last week how I came across Theory cashmere sweaters for half off and so I bought two. Here's the second. It's similar to the first, although this one is a turtleneck. But I decided to style it completely differently, wearing this sweater with some loose fitting black pants and ankle boots. Unfortunately I could not find a link to this sweater on sale (but I swear it was!), however, the pants are currently on sale and I've rounded up even more sweaters to buy below.
