I've been reluctant when it comes to tanks and tees with sayings on them. But this Aqua one is just a great shaped tank, and the beading on the shoulders is so cute. (I am afraid that after one wash the shirt will no longer be beaded, we shall see) And I (well, technically my mom) found these perfect black high-waisted shorts, which I have been looking for for quite a while now. Just for fun I added my heels to dress it up a bit. By the way, the whole time I've been writing this post I've had the new Britney Spears song Ooh La La stuck in my head, it's very catchy.

Opposite Dressing

Normally, my wardrobe is basic on the bottom and cute tops, but this summer I've gotten into wearing more patterned or printed shorts with basic tops. It's basically opposite dressing. But when I see a pair of shorts like these, I just can't resist. And this v-neck from Zara is the perfect partner to any bottom, I've definitely worn it a lot this summer. It's simple, easy, and opposite, and I love it.

These pictures are from a post I wrote for A Scandalously Fabulous Life a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd post them on here as well. The jewelry in these pictures is pretty much my everyday jewelry, give or take a few pieces depending on my mood. I've been really into layering simpler pieces of jewelry. So for me that means stacks of bracelets, some bangles, lots of rings, and 2-3 necklaces. I like how it makes a statement but at the same time it's still a simple more delicate look.

Tee Time

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Juicy Couture, Similar | Tee Free People | Shoes Ted Baker

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, summer for me is all about denim shorts and cute tanks and tees. These denim shorts are extra awesome because they are an ombred red/pinkish color. I wore them with an old Free People graphic tee, that is actually a very dramatic hi-low top that I recently cut so that I could wear it with shorts. I felt bad cutting it, but if it means I'll get more use out of it, which I'm certain I will, then I think it's worth it.

Take A Walk

Holy crap, it's hot outside. And I thought taking pictures in the winter was bad.. Anyways, in heat like this, it is all about keeping it simple. So I went with a circle skirt. (Seriously I don't think you can go wrong with a circle skirt, ever.) I wore it with this cute floral Aritzia bustier, which I love for both layering and for wearing it by itself. My new Ted Baker wedges rounded off the outfit, and of course no summer outfit is complete without some sunglasses.

Maxin' Out

As you know, I love trying new trends. But the one trend I never really got into was the maxi trend. And technically I still haven't really gotten into it because I borrowed this skirt from my mom. However, I may have to get my own maxi skirt. They are just so comfy and easy to wear. I also posted a close-up of my jewelry because I got a new hand chain that I'm really excited about. I bought it from Etsy and its handmade. It's just so delicate and beautiful, plus it has a pearl on it (my birthstone) and a small feather which is customized with the letter M. Over it All

I'll admit, originally I wasn't very into the idea of shorts overalls. I tried on a pair and I thought they made me look like a little kid. But when I saw these, I had to try them. And clearly, I love them. I wore them on the Fourth of July, they're just so cute and easy to wear. I wore them with just a plain black tee but you can also dress them up with a lace top underneath like they show on the website. That's an idea I just might have to try sometime soon.
